How to Apply

Thank you for your interest in the Psychiatry Residency Training Program and the University of New Mexico. We have applicants from around the nation. We also interview a handful of highly-qualified international medical graduates.

Dates to Apply

All PGY-1s

The Adult Psychiatry Residency Program only participates in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) through the Electronic Residency Application.

Within the NRMP and ERAS we offer two tracks:

Submit an ERAS application and all of the following:

Strong preference for applicants with at least one year of U.S. clinical experience.

University of New Mexico only accepts J-1 Visa

The Psychiatry Residency Training Program and the UNM Graduate Medical Education office will only consider candidates needing visas to train on J-1 visas.
